Pregnant women can't always do all of the exercises and sports they did before they became moms-to-be, but golf is not one of them. In fact, I've actually heard that a baby belly can help with form (I can't attest to that, not having had a baby and having pretty poor form no matter what). The problem comes in when finding something to wear -- you don't want to dress sloppy out there on the course, but you need to be comfortable and able to move easily. And, just as important, you don't want to spend a fortune on something you'll only wear for a couple of months. What options do you have?Van Linsey has a great solution, where mainstream meets maternity. The women in the picture above, a model and the line's designer, Vanessa Gobes, are wearing the same shirt in the same size. And Vanessa, who is pregnant in the picture (obviously), is wearing a pair of mainstream to maternity jersey pants, which have a comfy fold-down waistband, so they will fit nearly any size waistline.%Gallery-36506%Continue reading Van Linsey Lets Moms-To-Be Golf in Style

Winters in Michigan were brutal when I was in high school, in part because I played volleyball (with the teeny, tiny spandex shorts) and our coach wouldn't let us leave the building without covering our bare legs. And trust me, when practice was over, I didn't want anything keeping me from leaving that gym as quickly as humanly possible, so pulling on sweats or warm ups over my shoes was nothing short of sheer torture.Although, looking back, I have to admit that keeping us from freezing our bums off was probably a good idea.Anyway, I would have been very happy to have a GoGirlWrapperz skirt to cover my legs -- quickly and stylishly. There are ankle-length options in a variety of colors made from anti-static microfleece. And they're not just great for high schoolers -- they're perfect for adult gym girls, too.%Gallery-35883%Continue reading Stay warm and look cool with GoGirlWrapperz

I'm so pleased to announce that we have a winner for our Fit Beauty Pallie Bags Giveaway. Mona is the lucky lady, and she plans to "use it to carry everything, keys, water, mags, money ... shoes and a million other things." She'll have no problem doing so, as the bag is roomy and stylish, but still totally casual. Congratulations to her, and thank you, as always, to all of you who entered the giveaway. We'll have another one coming up shortly! If you're wildly disappointed that you didn't win the bag (and I can't blame you if you are -- I was pretty sad to send it off!), you can still get one of your own right here.

High heels, it turns out, may actually improve your sex life. How? A study was conducted
recently that found women who wore high heels had more toned abdominals and pelvic floor muscles than "non-stiletto" wearing women! When I read this article my mouth was hanging open in disbelief but at the same time having a "yeah, that makes sense" moment! The article states: "Dr. Maria Angela Cerruto, a urologist at the University of Verona, Italy, found that the tippy-toe posture of heels can tone a woman's abdomen and pelvic floor. If true, not only will a nice high-heeled shoe attract the man, it may keep him, too."
Of course there are many other medical professionals who will vouch for the fact that high heels may cause back and foot problems as well! I for one recall wearing a beautiful pair of designer heels to a posh shin dig in NYC about six years ago. As I stood, looking oh so good (ha! right!) in my beautiful, towering shoes, engaging in conversation with a brilliant inventor who claimed to have created SKYY Vodka, my feet were screaming in pain. You see, I never wore heels due to my feet being ruined by dancing on toe shoes. That evening, I know I did serious damage to my tootsies and I ended up having foot surgery soon thereafter. To this day I have two pins in my left foot and there is no way I can don a pair of sexy stilettos, not that I would want to. My cowboy boots will have to suffice with their solid heels! But just maybe those boots won't be just good for walking any more ... maybe they will be toning me from the inside out!

Drinking water is one of the easiest ways to improve your health, as well as one of the most important. However, hydration has gotten a little confusing lately -- what bottles are okay, and which ones will cause cancer or defects or death? I just want some water!Bev did a great post showing you some options of BPA-free water bottles, and now, Camelbak (one of the options Bev listed) was nice enough to send me some samples of their Better Bottles to review for Fit Gadgets. And so, aside from wanting a bottle that won't cause health issues, I sat down to think about the qualities a perfect water bottle would have:
One-handed operation. If I have to hold the cap in my other hand, it's a pain to use running, driving, or talking on the phone.
Large enough mouth for ice cubes. I live in Florida, and if there aren't ice cubes in my water when I go for a run, it's pretty warm by the home stretch.
Also, large enough for plenty of water. I go through a lot of water at the gym, and I prefer to avoid refilling my bottle mid-workout.
Easy to hold. There is nothing more frustrating that struggling to hold onto a bottle while running or walking, whether it's because of the size or the shape or the slipperiness.
Halfway attractive. I mean, I don't need to want to make out with it or anything, but, I am putting my mouth on it -- I wouldn't mind a cute bottle.
